Still Thirsty?

This past Sunday we celebrated Easter—but instead of going straight to the empty tomb, we went to a well. Because Easter isn’t just about what happened back then… it’s about what’s possible for you right now.

Jesus said on the cross, “It is finished.” So here’s the honest question: if it’s finished… why do so many people still feel like something’s missing? Why are we still striving, still chasing, still coming up empty?

In John 4, there’s a woman who comes to a well just trying to get through her day. And Jesus says something that really hits: “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again.” That’s not just about water—that’s about life. We all have things we go back to thinking, this will finally do it. A relationship, money, control, success… and it works for a minute. Then you’re right back where you started. Still thirsty.
The problem isn’t just that we’re empty—it’s that we keep going back to things that were never meant to fill us. You don’t just have a problem—you have a pattern. And if you’re honest, you probably already know what that is for you.

Jesus doesn’t offer a better version of what you’re chasing. He offers something completely different—living water. Not something you visit once a week, not something external, but something that actually changes you from the inside. That’s what Easter is really about. Not just that Jesus came out of the grave, but that His life can come into you.

Most people want Jesus to make their life better. But that’s not what He came to do. He came to make you new. That’s why the resurrection matters—because the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is the life He offers to you.
So what do you do with that? You stop going back to what isn’t working. You stop trying to fix yourself first. And you come to Him—honestly. “Jesus, I need something different. Jesus, I need real life.”

We stopped right at a turning point. She says, “Give me this water…” It sounds like she’s ready. But she’s not—because next, Jesus gets personal. And everything shifts.

This week, we’re going to see what happens when Jesus moves from the surface… to the heart. Because Jesus won’t just satisfy you—He will deal with what’s actually going on inside of you.
